  OUR MISSION
" A Ministry that Cares"
"Our mission is to follow Jesus Christ and to connect the disconnected to be followers of Jesus Christ."

The New Canaan Baptist Church Mission, God is a Spirit; and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) to spread God's love within the community. With a message of acceptance of all races and denominations, we seek to enact programs demonstrating the love of our Lord and Savior. By doing this, we effectively aid our members and community just as we are taught to do in the scriptures.

By standing squarely within the intersection of faith and life, New Canaan Baptist Church is able to provide its members a fun and exciting experience. We seek to provide a sanctuary for growth so that members gain a deeper intimacy with God and a stronger relationship with each other. New Canaan Baptist Church members and staff are here for you in times of joy and times of sorrow.

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe
all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world, Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20)

        1.  Our mission is a statement of what we are supposed to be doing.
        2.  Our mission is for planning where we are going.
        3.  The purpose of our mission is to inform us of all our ministry's functions.

To meet the current emerging developmental needs of this community by providing recreational, educational and vocational guidance that enhances the quality of life, promote better parent/child relationships, and encourage personal growth among our youth, through social intervention and a strengthening positive environment, empowering them to be productive leaders in today's society. We must also promote behavior, character and cultural enrichment that creates a lasting foundation in their struggle for independence and individuality through programs that best encourage development and growth.

OUR VISION
"I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and wil watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry" (Habakkuk 2:1-3)

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. (Proverbs 29:18)

Brethrenm, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you."  (Philippians 3:13-15)

*A place where the hurting, depressed, frustrated, and confused can find love, acceptance,
help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.  (Luke 4:18-19)
*A place where the Bible is believed and acted upon.  (John 20:31)
*A place of living together in unity.  (Psalm 133:1)
*A place of guiding people into spiritual maturity.  (Ephesians 3:14-19)
*A place of equipping the saints for the work of ministry.  (Ephesians 4:11-16)

Our vision is to see that every adult, youth, and every child of the New Canaan Baptist Church become actively involved in ministry to impact our church, where we worship, our community, where we reside, our city, where we live, our state, our country, and the world.
